Apparently I suck at drawing bearsposted Jan 24th 2010, 2:07PM

Music: I never seem to have anything playing when I post... XD
So, I have recently started reading Tuyuq Vampram's "The Order of the Draconis Serpentine."

I got into chapter 3 whereupon I encountered Frost. I got an image stuck sideways in my head of a bespectacled bear and picked up my pencil almost immediately. I thought to draw Frost standing, maybe with one paw on his furry hip and some form of tool in the other (paw, that is). I then googled grizzly bear pictures for a structural reference.
Much grumbling and doodling later (I did both in equal parts, I think) I have a pretty shoddy sketch of a disgruntled bear in oversized galoshes (I was trying for boots, and failed miserably), holding what looks more like a giant, misshapen tuning fork than any workable sort of tool. The boots were attempted not just for aesthetic fun, but also to get me out of having to draw bear feet. Not as easy as the unintended bad pun, I assure you.
It was upon finishing that I blinked and stared and came to a realization: Apparently I suck at drawing bears. =/
